Assessments

Independent Verification: As part of the grant’s methodology, we are employing three higher education experts in research, research design, and multicultural education to visit the Emporia State University campus twice a year for the three year duration of the grant to review the instruments, data collection, data analysis, and data interpretation. This will provide ongoing, independent critique of the quality of our efforts. Additionally, should a problem be detected or additional data collection is warranted, a rapid intervention could be readily made. See the section entitled "Quality and Potential Contributions of Personnel" section for the three consultants to be employed on this research project.

The Teachers College has approved multicultural outcomes for its pre-service professional preparation. In addition, a plan for students to create portfolios to assess these outcomes has been proposed. Under the auspices of the grant, a rubric for the portfolio assessment will be created and the analysis of the portfolios occur.

Initial assessments were created by The Project 30 Alliance Committee, composed of the following members:

Dr. Anthony Ambrosio, Director of the Multicultural/Diversity Assessment Project
Dr. Phillip Bennett, Associate Dean The Teachers College
Dr. Rod Sobieski, Associate Dean Liberal Arts and Sciences
Dr. Marie Miller, Chair of Music
Dr. Eileen Hogan, Professor in Early Childhood and Elementary Education
Dr. Cynthia Seguin, Assistant Professor of School Leadership and Multicultural Education Specialist
Dr. Rachelle Smith, Assistant Professor in the Division of English
